Being someone you aren’t is a big factor in life, because many people pretend to be someone they aren’t. In the story Brave New World one character stands out the most, John. This man pretends to be someone he isn’t through the whole story. It all starts in a busy place known as the hospital. John realizes how the “maggots” are lined up for their daily ration of soma . He also realizes that Linda has been made into a slave, so he tells all Deltas that the soma is poison but no one understands him. Then Deputy Sub- Bursar asks John to leave but once John says he’s bringing back freedom and then yells at the Deltas and calls them “babies” which leads him to throwing out their soma out of the window. This caused all the Deltas to go crazy because their drug was just thrown out the window, they all charge towards John, but all he was trying to do was bring freedom to all.
