BNW ESSAY

Being someone you aren’t is a big factor in life, because many people pretend to be someone they aren’t. In the story Brave New World one character stands out the most, John. This man pretends to be someone he isn’t through the whole story.          It all starts in a busy place known as the hospital. John realizes how the “maggots” are lined up for their daily ration of soma . He also realizes that Linda has been made into a slave, so he tells all Deltas that the soma is poison but no one understands him. Then Deputy Sub- Bursar asks John to leave but once John says he’s bringing back freedom and then yells at the Deltas and calls them “babies” which leads him to throwing out their soma out of the window. This caused all the Deltas to go crazy because their drug was just thrown out the window, they all charge towards John, but all he was trying to do was bring freedom to all. An assumption could be that he love to burn things such as books inside homes. 3) Bradbury characterized the fire hose as a "great python" because once a python has its target, it will use its weapon and attack. The fire hose also does that but is controlled by a human what finds the target and releases its venom as well 4) The symbolic importance of the number 451 is the degrees books are burned in order to be destroyed. 5) Clarisse is described saying ''her face was slender and milk-white, and in her face was a kind of gentle that touched over everything with tireless curiosity.'' The one thing that immediately strikes Montag ab...

BOOK CLUB OF ONE

In my opinion it does help talking with others about  the book because if  I don't understand a part maybe they do and they can help me understand. I feel good when someone knows what I'm talking about because they understand what I'm trying to say and what my point of view is. When someone doesn't understand what I'm saying I feel dumb or I feel like I'm talking to a wall but I kind of don't feel bad because they try to understand what I'm trying to explain.
