1) I believe Bradbury chose that title because both the salamander and the hearth represent the fire and maybe also has to do something with the protagonist aka Guy Montag 2) Some assumptions that the reader can make from Guy Montag is that he is obviously a firefighter, who doesn't put out fires, instead he creates them. An assumption could be that he love to burn things such as books inside homes. 3) Bradbury characterized the fire hose as a "great python" because once a python has its target, it will use its weapon and attack.
